Brian Lytle

We are a general practice law firm located in Newport News, Virginia. As a general practice firm, we have the experience and background necessary to advise clients regarding a broad range of legal matters, including business, real estate, divorce and family law, wills and trusts, civil litigation and traffic. We effectively assist our clients in courts across the Commonwealth.

Brian D. Lytle was born in North Carolina, moved to Virginia with his family at an early age, and grew up in Hampton, Virginia.

Brian attended Hampton High School until his senior year when he left school and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his four-year enlistment, Brian served with distinction as an air traffic controller, obtained his private pilot's license, and completed his education at night and on the weekends, obtaining his high school diploma (Irvine Adult), an associate's degree (Azusa Pacific College, with Honors), and a bachelor's degree (Southern Illinois University, University High Honors) before the end of his enlistment. Brian obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1984 from the T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond, Virginia.

Admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1984, Brian is a practicing Virginia lawyer with over 35 years’ experience. He is the owner of Lytle Law, P.C., a general practice law firm, Lytle Title & Escrow, LLC, a Virginia licensed settlement agent, and is a part owner of Liz Moore & Associates, LLC, real estate brokerage firm. Brian's law practice emphasizes real estate related matters and the representation of real estate brokers, agents, and firms, including Code of Ethics, procuring cause, malpractice, and VREB disputes.

Brian is admitted to practice before all Virginia state courts, including the Virginia Supreme Court, before the United States District Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He has previously served as a member and chair of Virginia State Bar First District Disciplinary Committee, and presently serves the Bar as a board member of the Virginia State Bar Client Protection Fund.

General counsel to the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors®, where he is a three-time affiliate of the year, Brian is a noted speaker on real estate matters. He is a VREB licensed instructor, regularly speaks and trains before local Realtor® associations (VPAR, WAAR, HRRA, etc.) and brokerage firms, has presented at the VAR annual convention, has twice presented (once as a featured speaker) before the National Association of Realtors® at its annual mid-year (Washington DC 2007) and national conventions (New Orleans 2006), and has written over forty Legal Corner articles for the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors® periodical Realtor Update.

Brian is married to the former Brenda Jean Nice, and they have four children.
